Sleep is very essential in a human’s life. Beds make us sleep more comfortable. We have different types of beds like single bed, twin, king size, and western king and California size beds. Twin beds are a matching pair of a single bed or likely to be contrast of a single bed. Twin beds are most commonly chosen for children or else for the guest rooms.

Twin beds are small, narrow and can easily fit even small bedrooms. Most twin beds have a trundle underneath so that it can accommodate the second bed for the guests. It does not occupy much space as its compact. The advantage of having the trundle that the space occupied by a single bed is well suited for twin beds.

Twin bed has an overall dimension of 39 inches wide and 75 inches long. The width per person is 39 inches. As twin size beds are smaller in size it can fit in to any rooms. Twin size sheets are cheaper than all other sheets and are available in different varieties. Making of twin beds are much easier. Though it has all the major advantages, it has some disadvantages too which makes its usage low. As it is available in a standard size it does not suit many adults.

We have another type of twin bed which is commonly known as twin extra long. Twin extra long beds are 5 inches longer than the standard twin beds. Normally they are used in college, company dormitory’s to accommodate tall persons. The overall dimension of a twin extra long is 39 inches wide and 80 inches long. The width per person is same as the standard twin bed. Two extra long twin beds are the ideal choice for the guest rooms. They can either be used as a single bed or combined together to make it as a king size. It’s flexible in its use.

Twin beds can also be used as bunk beds. Bunk beds are abundantly used in hostels, dormitory. Bunk beds are two twin beds stacked vertically. They can be used in a single room where 2 kids have to share the rooms and also where there is not enough space to occupy 2 beds.

Bunk beds are usually made of metal or woods. There are several types of bunk bed configurations like twin over twin bunk beds, twin over full bunk bed, and full over full bunk beds, loft bunk beds and futon bunk beds.

There are a huge amount of advantages when you choose a twin bed. Unlike all the box and spring beds it does not create an illusion as if it occupies space. Comfortness stands first while choosing this kind of bed. Twin beds are more stable and undoubtedly firmer than any other beds. A storage container beneath the beds is an added advantage. Twin beds can give its maximum benefit depending on the mattresses we choose for it. Costs are even much lower in the market than the other varieties.
